Rules

In SBML Level 3 Version 1, AssignmentRules and RateRules are used to assign values or change of values respectively to variables of a model, that are Compartments, Species, SpeciesReference, or global Parameters. In order to assign the value of a specific type of species, AssignmentRules and RateRules in multi Version 1 also contain an element SpeciesTypeInstanceChange. The assignment sets the quantity of instances that fulfill a certain selection using the mathematical expression provided.

Rule

In order to assign values, or value evolutions, to entity subpools, defined by specific state and connectivity, the elements AssignmentRule and RateRule of SBML Level 3 Version 1 core are linked to a SpeciesTypeInstanceChange.
