Designed Composition Use Case

-- Martin Ginkel, 10 Sep 2007

From Ranjit's Presentation:

Models are composed from submodels, which are designed to be composed. This is, what is done in the Jigcell aggregation system and in Promot, maybe also within VCell.

Since the submodels (modules) are designed for aggregation, there will be not so much redundancy but there will be a need for declared interfaces.

The actual usecase should be, that SBML L3 should be able to express

  • submodels with interfaces
  • instantiation and parametrization these submodels

In the result, tools that are able to build models with Aggregation will be able to exchange these models and the submodels via SBML.
