We are pleased to announce a release of the Systems Biology Workbench 2.5.5,
available from:
http://sys-bio.org
There are a number of significant changes to this release, these include
infrastructure changes, existing module updates and a raft of new modules.
Infrastructure: This release uses the latest stable version of libSBML and
for the first time provides native C# (.NET) support including a special
add-on for Visual Studio to assist SBW module development (add-on available
separately at http://public.kgi.edu/~fbergman ).
Module updates: We have updated a number of existing modules. A new Matlab
translator is released which includes explicit support for local and global
parameters, a new SimDriver GUI interface for carrying out simulations, and
steady state analysis.
New Modules: This release includes a number of new modules. These include:
1) A SBW wrapper around LAPACK (linear algebra library) ; 2) An SBML
compatible structural analysis module based on the recently published robust
algorithms for structural analysis (this module can be called from other
modules to access conservation laws etc); 3) A GUI interface to the
structural analysis module; 4) An SBML to XPP translator which includes
conservation law support and is therefore compatible with Emery Conrad's
Oscill8 software; 5) An SBML layout module which reads graphically annotated
SBML and permits a user to view the network, export common image formats or
access graphical information from other modules; 6) A autolayout module,
which takes SBML with or without layout information and lays out the network
and emits SBML using the SBML layout format; 7) Finally we are also pleased
to release version 2 of JDesigner, which supports, the SBML Layout
Extension, autolayout, modifier edges, complexes, SBML notes, and much
more.
Many other changes are detailed in the change log, including updates to
Jarnac, SBW, NOM, Inspector etc.
Thanks
- SBW Development Team
