SBO annotation of units and unit definitions 14 Sep '09 00:24

Dear all,

I just recognized that the documentation of SBML Level 2 Version 4 does not state anything about the SBO attributes of units and unit definitions (in contrast to the statement that, e.g., ListOf objects do not have an SBO attribute even though these elements inherit from SBase). Therefore, I would like to know what is the preferred way to annotate units and unit definitions in SBML? It seems that the SBO contains a set of terms that might be a good choice for this. However, for the predefined units substance, volume and so on I only found term 345 (time). Should these Unit and UnitDefinition elements be annotated at all?

Cheers
Andreas
