how to represent a family of proteins 18 Apr '11 03:19 Go to previous message

Hi all

This is translation of entity question.

In our model we have en entity called families. Families are groups of isoform genes (encoded by distinct genomic loci) with high sequence homology and whose encoded transcripts/proteins share most of their biological activities.
For example we have a family "E2F transcriptional activators" with the members E2F1,E2F2,E2F3 every action that one does the other members do the same.

currently I have regulations of this family changing transcription of protein A
my options are:
* duplicate the regulation for each member.
* unite the three members in a box called family and let the family do the regulation.

What is the correct way in SBML?

Thanks,
Eyal
