As usual, your proposal is the voice of reason.
Tools editing and writing SBML will be able to create new reaction
laws giving only the maths, so we won't have the case where a model can't
be writen before the SBO is updated to include the new rate law (and there
would be no impetus to create the new rate law because the model wasn't
published).
I'm no expert on rate laws, so I'm bothered by my ignorance here:- http://www.empproject.com/cgi-bin/rd_html.pl?id=KUM01078-02 has a
reaction that lists over 30 different inhibitors. Can anyone point me at a
pre-compiled rate law that allows for the presence of different amounts of
all 30+ species with different inhibition constants (and at least two
different inhibition types)?
