Well here is my line of thinking:
- SBML represents a model with variables and relations
- Some of the variables have special biochemical semantics,
therefore they have special sections:
species, compartment and maybe (if you allow refs to rates)
reactions
- For the rest we have a general section of ListOfVariables
- All of them are treated the same way in the sense of
systems theory: If constant=true is set, the special/general
variable means a fixed parameter, otherwise it can change
dynamically
