I am not trying to solve anything. Personaly I'm mostly fine with the
current situation. I just meant to say that Herbert's (or Martin's)
state variables currently correspond to physical entities such as
species and compartments, or abstract constructs, stored as
parameters. If one creates a list of state variables, it should be
orthogonal to the other lists, not complementary. However, I perhaps
completely misundestood Herbert's and Martin's point. So I'll shut up
for now. ;-)
