libSBML 4.1.0 released! (25 Aug.'10) This major update to libSBML supports SBML Level 3 Version 1 Core, fixes several bugs, and adds new facilities.

COMBINE 2010 (10 Aug.'10) The next SBML Forum Meeting will be integrated into COMBINE 2010, being held in Edinburgh, UK, on Oct. 6–9.

SBMLToolbox 3.1.2! (27 Apr.'10) Another minor bug-fix release of our free MATLAB toolbox for SBML is now available.

New libSBML matrix (2 Feb.'10) We've added a page summarizing the differences between the different libSBML branches.

SBMLToolbox 3.1.0 released! (28 Jan.'10) The new SBMLToolbox, a free MATLAB toolbox, adds features, support SBML L2v4 and fixes bugs.

SBML-BioModels.net Hackathon (25 Jan.'10) The next Hackathon will be held May 1–4 in Seattle. Please let us know if you're coming.

LibSBML 4.0.1 released! (21 Jan.'10) This release of the libSBML version 4.0.x series fixes many reported small bugs in 4.0.0.

LibSBML 5 preview! (18 Jan.'10) A preview version of libSBML version 5, with a plug-in architecture for Level 3 packages, is now available.

Specification contest (15 Jan.'10) Report bugs in the SBML L3v1C spec. and you may win a $100 gift certificate for Amazon.

New "elaborations" page (12 Jan.'10) We've started a page for longer "elaborations" of some frequently-asked topics.

SBML Level 3 Version 1 Core released! (31 Dec.'09) Release 1 Candidate of the SBML Level 3 Version 1 Core specification is now available.

SBML tools list reaches 180! (23 Dec.'09) The number of tools listed in the SBML Software Guide has reached 180!

New SBML Editors elected (21 Dec.'09) The votes are in: Jim Schaff and Lucian Smith will be new SBML Editors in 2010!

LibSBML survey results (7 Dec.'09) The results of the survey about the Windows installers for libSBML are in, and we have a contest winner!

LibSBML Windows survey (25 Nov.'09) We are running a survey to determine what people want in their Windows installers for libSBML.

SBMLeditor 1.3.4 released (20 Nov.'09) SBMLeditor is a portable (written in Java), simple, low-level SBML editor. This release supports SBML L2v4 and the latest libSBML.

Review SBML on SourceForge! (12 Nov.'09) SourceForge.net has a review system for projects. Please use it to vote & comment on the SBML project!

Call for SBML Editor nominations (10 Nov.'09) The nomination phase for two new SBML Editors is now open.

LibSBML 4.0.0 released! (26 Aug.'09) LibSBML is an API library for SBML. This release focuses on reducing opportunities for creating invalid SBML.

Draft of Level 3 Core! (22 Aug.'09) A draft specification of SBML Level 3 Core is now available for public review.

LibSBML 3.4.1 released! (30 Jul.'09) LibSBML is an API library for SBML. This release contains several small bug fixes.

More errata for L2v4r1 (11 July '09) A few more issues have been noted recently on the SBML Level 2 Version 4 errata list.

SBML Level 3 plans updated (8 Jul. '09) The SBML Editors have updated the plans for SBML Level 3 Core and are seeking feedback.

SBML FAQ updated (1 Jul. '09) FAQ item #3.6 now features an expanded explanation of SBML Level 2 annotations.

5000 visits/month (26 Jun. '09) Our Google Analytics tracker reports sbml.org gets nearly 5000 visitors/month, 50% of them new.

SBML group on LinkedIn (25 Jun. '09) There is now a group for SBML on LinkedIn.com, for all you LinkedIn members.

SBML tools list reaches 170 (22 Jun. '09) The number of tools listed in the SBML Software Guide has reached 170!

LibSBML 3.4.0 released! (15 Jun.'09) LibSBML is an API library for SBML. The new release features new object constructors.

SBML FAQ updated (9 Jun. '09) We've added a new item, #4.20, to the SBML FAQ.

2009 SBML Forum Meeting (17 May '09) The next SBML Forum Meeting will be held in Stanford, California, USA, Sep. 3–4, as a satellite workshop of ICSB 2009.

LibSBML 3.3.0 released! (21 Jan.'09) LibSBML is an API library for working with SBML. New features include support for SBML Level 2 Version 4.

SBML report generator available (20 Jan. '09) SBML.org now partners with the developers of SBML2LaTeX to provide an online service for generating human-readable reports of SBML files.

SBML Level 2 Version 4! (22 Dec. '08) Release 1 of the SBML Level 2 Version 4 specification is now available. It corrects a few issues in L2V3 and acts on decisions made by the SBML community.

New SBML Editor elected (19 Dec.'08) The votes are in, and Frank Bergmann will be an SBML Editor starting in 2009. Congrats, Frank!

SBML Hackathon 2009 (13 Dec.'08) The next SBML Hackathon will be held March 26–28, 2009, at the EBI in Hinxton, UK.

LibSBML 3.2.0 released! (20 Aug.'08) LibSBML is an API library for working with SBML. New features include C# bindings and compressed file support.

KEGG2SBML 1.5.0 released! (28 Jul. '08) KEGG2SBML converts KEGG pathway database files to SBML.

SBML logo available (15 Jul. '08) An official logo for showing support of SBML is now available for public use.

2008 SBML Forum Meeting (27 Jun. '08) The next SBML Forum Meeting will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, August 27–28, as a satellite workshop of ICSB 2008.

Repository converted to SVN (26 Jun '08) The SBML project source code repository now uses SVN instead of CVS for version control.

SBML.org problems (29 May '08) A security break-in on the server, followed by a disk failure, caused SBML.org to be off-line for two days while we rebuilt it.

New SBML FAQ (7 May '08) A greatly revised and rewritten list of FAQs and answers for SBML is now available.

New mailing list introduced (6 May '08) A new mailing list, libsbml-development, now exists for discussions of libSBML improvement and development.

libsbml-discuss renamed (6 May '08) The libsbml-discuss mailing list has been renamed to sbml-interoperability.

Old sbml.org failed (2 Mar.'08) The old sbml.org server failed, so we had to unveil this new site even though some areas are unfinished.

LibSBML 3.1.1 released! (25 Feb.'26) The latest version of LibSBML, an embeddable, portable API library for working with SBML content, is now available.

SBML Hackathon 2008 (19 Feb.'08) This year's SBML Hackathon will be April (6)–7–8 at Stellenbosh University.

SBMLToolbox 3.0.0 released! (8 Jan.'26) The latest version of SBMLToolbox, a package for working with SBML models in MATLAB, is now available.

LibSBML 3.1.0 released! (8 Jan.'26) The latest version of LibSBML, an embeddable, portable API library for working with SBML content, is now available.

New SBML Editors elected (8 Jan.'08) The results are in, and our two new SBML Editors for 2008-2010 are Sven Sahle and Darren Wilkinson. Three cheers for them!

Dates of next SBML Hackathon (7 Jan.'08) The results of the recent survey are in, and the dates of the 2008 SBML Hackathon will be April 7–8, with an optional third day on April 6, in Stellenbosh, South Africa.

New website in development (30 Dec. '07) You're reading this on a completely new site and server for SBML.org. It's still in development but hopefully the site will be ready for public use very soon.

SBML Level 2 Version 3 Release 2! (27 Sep. '07) Release 2 of the SBML Level 2 Version 3 specification is now available. It corrects typos and small errors in Release 2.

2007 SBML Forum Meeting (22 Aug. '07) The next SBML Forum Meeting will be held in Long Beach, California, USA, October 5–6, as a satellite workshop of ICSB 2007.

SBML Level 2 Version 3 released! (16 Jun. '07) Release 1 of the SBML Level 2 Version 3 specification is now available.

SBML Level 2 Version 3 prerelease (20 Mar. '07) A public review copy of the SBML Level 2 Version 3 specification is now available. Please send us your comments by Apr. 20.

SBML issue reporting system (13 Jan. '07) There is now an issue reporting and tracking system available for SBML specifications. Revisions of SBML documents will refer to issues logged in this system.

SBML Level 2 Version 2 released! (25 Sep. '06) The final version of the SBML Level 2 Version 2 specification is now available!

SBML Wikipedia entry (18 Sep. '06) There is now an updated entry for SBML in Wikipedia. Let us know your suggestions for improvements.

SBML tutorial at ICSB 2006 (8 Sep. '06) Mike Hucka will be leading a tutorial on SBML this year at ICSB 2006 in Japan. The focus will be on the about-to-be-released SBML Level 2 Version 2.

New SBML Online Validator! (6 Mar. '06) SBML.org has a slick new online SBML validator, complete with remote API. Check it out!

MathSBML Vers. 2.5.7 released! (4 Feb. '06) The SBML Team released version 2.5.7 of MathSBML, a full-featured package for working with SBML in the Mathematica environment. The new version fixes a small bug in stoichiometry matrix calculations.
